# Episode Map — Season 1

*The framework for the first ~15 episodes. Titles and order and the logic of the
sequence — not full scripts. Season 1 lays the whole **foundation** one layer at a
time; Season 2 becomes the practical **roadmap** (what to know at every age).*

**The arc in one breath:** set the contract with the audience (0) → hit them with
the stakes (1) → build the two foundations, truth then worth (2–5) → what aims you
(6) → the engine (7) → radiate outward through the four circles (8–12) → the spine
that holds it together (13) → zoom back out and hand off to the roadmap (14).

The order deliberately mirrors the infographic: you start at the core and move
outward, ring by ring.

| # | Working Title | Layer | The promise of the episode |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | **There Is No Manual** | Keystone | Nobody hands you the guide for being a person — so let's build one. The one rule: *method, not content.* I won't tell you how to live. |
| 1 | **The Clock Is Running** | Finitude | You're going to die, and that's the whole point. Time is finite; there are no solutions, only tradeoffs. *(The hook.)* |
| 2 | **Believe Well** | Epistemology I | Science is real. How to believe as many true things for good reasons as possible. |
| 3 | **You Are Probably Wrong** | Epistemology II | Intellectual humility, updating, "I don't know" as a full sentence — and how belief gets hijacked *(first look at indoctrination)*. |
| 4 | **Everyone Counts** | Inherent Dignity | The worth floor: people are ends, not tools. Why we don't get to dehumanize *anyone*. |
| 5 | **Two Kinds of Respect** | Dignity vs. Standing | The distinction that dissolves a hundred arguments: worth you're owed vs. standing you earn. |
| 6 | **What's It All For?** | Meaning | Meaning is *made*, not found — the compass. But it has to rest on solid ground. |
| 7 | **You Get to Choose** | Agency | The engine. Capability is built, not born. Comfort isn't the goal; growth is. |
| 8 | **Tend Your Own Garden** | Self | The open room: your body, mind, money, space — and your joy. Self-reliance and asking for help are the same skill. |
| 9 | **The People in the Room** | Care | Love those close. Teach, don't just tell. *Love includes the word "no."* Guardianship is a trust, not ownership. *(Where the parenting material lives.)* |
| 10 | **The Treaty** | Society I — contract | Tolerance is a treaty, not a suicide pact. Reciprocity, promises, where your freedom ends. *(Deep dive on intolerance.)* |
| 11 | **Belonging** | Society II | A contract explains fairness; a community explains home. The need that isn't a transaction. |
| 12 | **Leave It Better** | Contribution | Do one thing well enough to give it away. Work as pouring yourself into a world that outlasts you. |
| 13 | **The Two Poisons** | Keystone, full | Why the *only* two forbidden things are indoctrination and intolerance — and the "it forbids the question; we require it" defense. The episode that takes a side. |
| 14 | **Objections & Hard Cases** | Full defense | Meet the hardest objections in the open — religion (anti-coercion, not anti-religion), the limits of tolerance (harm, not offense), the child cases (*guardianship is a trust, not ownership*) — and admit where it's still hard. |
| 15 | **The Whole Picture** | Synthesis | Reassemble the orbit, say the creed, and hand off: from *why it matters* to *what to actually know at every age.* Teases Season 2 = the roadmap. |

## Three sequencing calls still open

1. **Cold open** — lead with the thesis (0), or gut-punch with *Finitude* first? Thesis
tells them what show they're watching; Finitude is the stronger hook. *Lean: keep
thesis at 0 but make it short.*
2. **Truth before worth, or worth before truth?** Epistemology (2–3) is currently
before Dignity (4–5). Flipping says "people matter before facts do" — a different
   opening statement of values.
3. **Split or combine** — Epistemology and Society are each split into two here. Collapse
each to one and the season lands at ~11 episodes.
